We select your carrier from our vetted network, not a public load board, and verify its FMCSA authority and cargo insurance before anything moves. You get the insurance certificate in writing before pickup, so the coverage is confirmed rather than assumed.

Your driver calls at least 24 hours ahead to set the window. At pickup, the car is inspected and photographed from every angle, and its condition is recorded on the Bill of Lading, your baseline if anything is ever questioned later.

Your coordinator texts status on request, checked directly with the driver rather than an app. Carriers cover about 500 miles a day, so a coast-to-coast run typically takes 7 to 10 days. You always have a real person to ask.

Delivery, inspect before you sign
The driver calls a few hours before arrival. Walk the car against your pickup photos, check it over, and sign the Bill of Lading only once you are satisfied. The inspection is yours to take at your own pace, never rushed.

The price, explained
What actually sets the cost of shipping a car
Four inputs decide nearly all of it. The calculator weighs the same factors a dispatcher would — it just shows you the result before asking who you are.
Distance & lane
Distance is the biggest cost driver, but not in a straight line. Longer routes cost more in total yet less per mile, because fixed costs spread across the trip. Busy corridors between major metros are cheaper than thin, out-of-the-way lanes, where fewer trucks compete for the load.
Vehicle size & weight
Bigger vehicles take more of the carrier. A lifted truck, dually, or full-size SUV uses more deck space and more of the trailer's weight allowance, so it prices above a sedan. Give real height, length, and weight for an accurate quote, since a stock badge can hide a heavily modified rig.
Season
Demand moves the price. Snowbird routes surge in fall and spring, and summer is the busiest season overall, while January tends to run cheaper. You cannot change the calendar, but booking 5 to 7 days ahead of your target, rather than same-week, usually beats the surge.
Transport type & condition
How the car travels and what shape it is in both matter. Enclosed transport runs 30 to 50% above open for the sealed trailer and smaller fleet, and a non-running car that still rolls, brakes, and steers adds a flat $150 winch fee, disclosed up front rather than sprung at pickup.
